Dr. Lori White
Village Veterinary Clinic
Hey,I'm Dr. White. I'm one of the veterinarians here at Village Veterinary Clinic. I founded Village Veterinary Clinic twelve years ago. We've grown now to a two-doctor practice.
Where did your career start?
My career started here in Athens. I've worked here. I've worked in one practice for 11 years, another for eight before we founded Village Veterinary Clinic..
What is your educational background?
Before that, I went to Auburn University. I was down there for seven years. I still have a lot of affiliation with Auburn. I remain an avid Auburn fan!
What do you enjoy about being a veterinarian?
One of my favorite things about being a veterinarian really relates to people and how we can help people enrich their lives just by making their pets healthier, live longer, love to educate people. That becomes important as our area grows and we have people move in from other parts of the country. We get a chance to educate those folks about what happens here in Alabama. It's probably different from where they came from.
Are you a member of any professional organizations?
I'm a member of several professional organizations, all affiliated with veterinary medicine at this point, both state and local level on that.
What aspects of veterinary practice do you enjoy?
Really, when it comes to practice, I enjoy a lot of aspects of that. I really like some internal medicine as well as really at this point just love interacting with the clients and the patients in the exam room.
